Afghan refugees children play with dust where they families wait for their tent allocation at the Makaki refugee camp set up by the Iranian Red Crescent Society under Taliban's control 2 miles (3 kms) inside Afghanistan from the Iranian border, located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) east of the Iran's Zabol city Monday, Nov. 5, 2001. Around 2,000 families of displaced Afghans totalling 12,000 persons live in Makaky camp, and about half of them live without tent in over the past week. Over the past month, thousands of Afghans have headed for neighboring countries, including Iran and Pakistan, triggering a looming refugee crisis. Authorities sent dozens of Afghan refugees back across the border as part of attempts to contain the refugee flow into Iran.
